EDUCATORS

Adventerra Games has no desire to waste precious raw materials and energy selling you games that will sit on a shelf gathering dust, so this page will show you step by step how to calculate exactly how many games you need for your educational program within your institutional context, and how much they will cost.

Step 1: To find out how many Energy Hogs kits to order, calculate how many classes will be playing the games at the same time.

Example 1: Maria Hanley is Assistant Principal of an Elementary School. She has six seventh- grade classes that will play Energy Hogs during three different class periods. This means that each kit can be used by three classes! Maria needs only two kits (6 classes divided by three class periods).

Step 2: To find out how many Energy Hogs must be in each kit, find out how many students there are in the largest class and divide that by the number of players that can play Energy Hogs at a time (four).

Example 2: Maria’s largest class contains 23 students, and four students can play Energy Hogs, so each kit must include six games -- 23 students divided by four students/game, rounded up to the nearest whole number.

Step 3: To calculate the total number of Energy Hogs needed, multiply the number of kits (Step 1) by the number of games needed in each kit (Step 2).

Example 3: Maria needs 12 Energy Hogs (two kits of six games each).

Step 4: To calculate the cost to your program after application of the Adventerra Games educational and volume discounts, consult the line in the table below corresponding to the total number of games you need (Step 3).

Step 6: If your organization cannot cover 100% of the cost of the games needed in your area, then consider looking for an outside sponsor for your game distribution project.

Example 4: Jim Townsend works for a high school in Smoggy City, UK. He has calculated in Step 3 that he needs 1,200 Watergames and 900 copies of Energy Hogs. His order is more than 100 games, so he contacts us and gets a discounted price of $14.00 per Watergame and $17.00 per copy of Energy Hogs. The total budget will cost (1,200 x $14.00) + (900 * $17.00) = $32,100. His special projects budget has only $10,000. He makes a fund-raising pitch to the local Chamber of Commerce that decides to cover the rest of the project cost in exchange for a little work organizing a press conference to give them credit. Because the order is substantial, Adventerra agrees to customize the games by putting the logo of the sponsor on the box cover, and to insert a letter from their President in the Manual.

Important note: Even if you are not ready to order, if you have a good idea for a special project to get people in your area playing Adventerra Games, then please contact us directly.
